Got well-appointed and great-sized room with nice views of the sunset and a living room and a kitchen. Exceptionally comfortable bed and lovely breakfast. Heated swimming pool and marvellous location adjacent to Shelbern farms, the "casual restaurant" and house-Tavern. Also, different to other hotels in the area.

An excellent property, fairly clean, great and tranquil location on many strip malls. Updated & unique unit with a fireplace, music, Jet tub. Incredible employees from the reservation agents to the restaurant manager, exceptional food. Location near a cove as well as the The Essex for a 2-night getaway for Valentine's Day. The signature restaurant for breakfast. Great way to end our trip.

Great Spa, but dining options are lacking!
In general: Our room was a bit dated, but spacious and quaint. The Spa was great, best part of the resort. For a culinary resort, the dining options were underwhelming. The restaurant only had one vegetarian main course, and the service at the Tavern was dreadful. The wait on a weekend was unbearable, and not because of high foot traffic. They were painfully slow at turning tables over, taking orders, etc. The hostess was not on top of things. The second night we went, she said they had no tables available and gave me a wait time of 40+ minutes when I could see two free tables from the entrance. When I inquired about those, at first she said she had to keep them free (why???), then she apologized and said I could have one of the free table. We went for two nights on a row due to adverse weather conditions, but if I’m back at the Essex I’ll avoid the Tavern at all costs. Dining: Avoid the Tavern at all costs! Service is slow, and the hostess is incompetent. The Junction does not have enough vegetarian options. Sports and leisure: Great pool, fitness center, and Spa! Room: The sofa bed in our room needs to be replaced. The frame and the mattress were done. Otherwise, room was okay.
